Grafton turned 1 1/2 years old last Tuesday, February 1st. He got moved from the Creeper Room to the Toddler Room yesterday. He had been spending some time in the Toddler Room, but was waiting on an opening in that room and one came available on Friday. Grafton loved spending time in that room and really was far more advanced than the other babies in the Creeper Room so we expected he would do well in there. The only concern we had was how they were going to get him to sleep on a nap mat versus a crib. Gray and I both wanted to be flies on the wall for that! Much to our surprise, he laid on the mat the entire time! Yay for Grafton! He gets to go outside and do more activities in his new room so I think he is really loving that.
Grafton has become obsessed with the outdoors and it's been a struggle every time we come home or leave the house. When I turn off the car he says "walk" which means he wants to walk around. He would stay outside forever if you let him! He doesn't care how cold it is or even if it's raining. So, needless to say, we've seen many a temper tantrum when we have to drag him back inside. Mommy and daddy do not like to spend a lot of time outside when it's freezing cold! Grafton is learning new words like crazy and has quite the vocabulary now. He's also making a lot of associations. He will walk to the back door and say "key" because he knows we have to get the key out to unlock it. He's one smart cookie!
Today he went to the doctor for his 18 month check-up and he got a good report. He had 2 shots which he of course did not like, but he quickly got over it. His latest stats are:
26 lbs. 13 oz., 60%
32 1/2 inches tall, 60%
